Brian Hwang, MD
As an accomplished plastic & reconstructive surgeon, Dr. Brian Hwang specializes in Aesthetic Surgery of the breast, body, buttocks, and nose.
Dr. Brian Hwang attended Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA for his undergraduate degree, on a music scholarship for violin. It was there that he first realized his interests in both art and science, and he would discover much later that the balance of science and artistry would continue to be the driving force for his interest in Plastic Surgery to this day. After moving to Chicago to attend Chicago Medical School, Dr. Brian Hwang then completed a full 7-year residency in General Surgery at New York Presbyterian-Queens, which included dedicated research in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Southern California. This time in research led to multiple publications and presentations at national meetings. Dr. Brian Hwang then achieved admission into a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship program at the prestigious Duke University Medical Center, which has consistently been ranked as one of the top 10 medical centers in the nation. He was privileged to be trained by leaders in plastic surgery as well as work alongside top-notch colleagues. The wide range of pathology from a diverse patient population allowed Dr. Brian Hwang to finish with a solid foundation in aesthetic and reconstructive surgical principles, operating the entire spectrum of plastic surgery. After serving as the Chief Resident, his keen attention to detail and passion for aesthetic surgery led him to further expand his skills with top aesthetic surgeons at Beverly Hills Physicians, where he completed a year-long Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship.
The philosophy of Dr. Brian Hwang's approach is centered around each patient. He believes that understanding each patient's desires, lifestyle, and expectations for surgery is key in devising the most optimal surgical plan. Communication is at the crux of every interaction, and Dr. Brian Hwang's calm and humble Californian demeanor naturally helps foster that. His hope is not only for each patient to recover seamlessly from surgery, but also to walk away living more fulfilling lives.
In his spare time, Dr. Brian Hwang enjoys spending time with his wife Dr. Marlene Kalouyan, who is an OB/GYN in West Hills, CA, and their daughter.
