My weight loss journey began in early April 2007 when I received a call from an unfamiliar voice. It was Dr. Feiz on the other end of the phone encouraging me to make an appointment to see him at his office to start the process toward the Lap-Band® procedure. I was very hesitant because I had been made the same promises by several other physicians in prior years. I decided to give it one last try and I made the appointment for the initial consultation.

My first impression of Dr. Feiz was of a kind and genuinely concerned physician who was looking out for the best interest of his patients and one that was willing to go to battle with the insurance company for them. The process went just as smoothly as promised. Two months later I received my approval letter from Blue Cross. On June 12,2007 I was scheduled for surgery. I had to do my part as well with diet and exercise before surgery.

I was 360 lbs when I first stepped into Dr. Feiz office. Nine months later I am down to 257 lbs with a total weight loss off 103 lbs. My life has truly changed for the better. I am able to do things I'd dare not do in the past. I felt good the get on the plan and have the seat belt fasten without asking for an extension. I can go to restaurants and not worry about fitting into booths. The ultimate experience since having the lap-band procedure was walking into a department store and having to ask for a smaller size because the outfit was "too big"! Although my journey continues I know that I will be successful in reaching my weight loss goals with the love and support of Dr. Feiz and his staff.

I have never questioned my decision to have Lap-Band surgery nor do I have any regrets. I was the best thing I could have done to improve the quality of my life. There is no other physician I would have entrusted my health and welfare too than that of Dr. Feiz, he has truly been a blessing and heaven sent in my life.
